Senior Engineer – Mechanical Design works with global engineering teams in designing pumps and its components. Should possesses good hands-on mathematical calculations. Role also includes in generating CAD models & preparing drawings inline with ASME standards using GD&T’s and to maintain them in ARAS PLM. Should have clear understanding of ECOs/ECNs for the changes and do necessary follow ups with various cross functions on approvals wherever required. Should be completing the tasks with in established standard effort hours and meet quality metrics.

This position is located in Bangalore, India.

In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:

Key Responsibilities

• Cost effective designs for castings, Sheet metal, Die casted parts of centrifugal pump product & assemblies using Solidworks. It includes utilizing Solidworks PDM & PLM
• Generate conceptual design, engineering calculations & detailed design for extensive range of products and solutions across various business segments.
• Designing parts that are feasible for manufacturing process like casted parts, sheet metal fabrication, die-casting and all surface treatment process.
• Providing specification analysis and component selection. Deliver complete and accurate detailed design drawings as required for manufacturing with GD&T, assembly and installation, which meet project requirements. 
• Generate documentation including design specifications, custom part drawings, engineering Bill of Materials, general assembly drawings and process flows. 
• Activity management with intercompany resources and outside vendors in support of prototyping, fabrication, assembly and verification testing for international standards. 
• Supporting multidisciplinary project activities. Support prototype builds and engineering product verification to ensure compliance to requirements. 
• Applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques on both new and existing products to produce optimal design and manufacturing solutions. 
• Maintaining a professional, cooperative relationship with both the customer and internal disciplines in order to provide superior levels of technical service

Role Requirements

• BE/BTech in Mechanical/Tool & Die Design from a reputed Institute.
• In plant/Apprenticeship Training in Design (Mechanical) from a reputed Institute/ Organization.
• 5 – 7 years experience
• Have good understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Hands-on experience in 3D modeling and 2D drafting of parts per industry standards using any of the 3D CAD software’s – SolidWorks, UGNX, Pro-E, CATIA.(Solid works preferred).
• A Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) will be added advantage.
• Experience in creation of manufacturing and assembly drawings per ASME/DIN/BIS drafting standards is required.
• ERP knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Understanding of Change order implementation.
• Good knowledge of commonly used materials in the industry, their key mechanical properties, and applications.
• Experience in pumping products manufacturing industry is an added advantage.
• Good communication skills.
