  • Summary
  • Applications

Systems requiring low to medium flow-high head such as domestic water pressure boosting, fire safety (“jockey” pumps), boiler fee water, cooling tower make up water

  • Description

Armstrong 4700 Vertical Multistage (VMS) Pumps are high-efficiency, space-saving solutions engineered for applications requiring high pressure, reliability, and energy optimization. Featuring Precision-engineered stainless-steel hydraulics, advanced mechanical seals and inverter-ready motors, these pumps deliver exceptional performance across a wide range of flow and head conditions. They offer quiet operation, low maintenance and long service life, best suited for installations where performance durability and compact footprint are essential.

  • Materials

Stainless steel hydraulics with stainless steel (VMS10 and below) or cast iron (VMS and larger) casing

  • Configuration

4700 Vertical Multistage (VMS) pumps come with low axial thrust impellers improve efficiency and equipment life while Silicon carbide cartridge type mechanical shaft seal reduces maintenance cost and time by enabling replacement without disassembling the motor bracket.

  • Performance range

up to 450 USgpm (102 m3/hr) flow; up to 370 psi (22 bar) pressure

  • Temperature

    -22°F to +248°F (-30°C to 120°C)

  • Power Range

0.5 hp to 60 hp (0.37 kW to 45 kW)

  • Size

    1.25" to 4" (38 mm to 100 mm)

Low operating cost

  •  Armstrong 4700 pumps are equipped with high-efficiency NEMA-premium motors for significant reduction in energy consumption and cost
  •  All motors are suitable for inverter-fed service

Minimal mechanical wear and low maintenance costs

  •  Anti-erosion measures in high-velocity areas of intermediate pump casing
  •  Square-edge 6 and 12 spline shaft design for reduced impeller wear
  •  Casing venting to prevent air entrapment and dry running
  •  Tungsten carbide pump bearing and silicon carbide mechanical seal seat for extended durability
  •  Flexible floating outer casing to compensate for differing temperature applications
