The test engineer works within the value streams to contribute to project planning.  Specifically, they contribute by ensuring that testing tasks are included in the value stream plans with a reasonable expectation on facilities, time, schedule, and resources to complete these tests.  These tasks will ensure that the required test procedures are known and documented, that the tests meet the purpose of the requirement, and they are documented in a manner that can be replicated and where required ensure the product will meet the certification body tests.  The engineer ensures that our test activities are safely implemented according to local, national, and international laws, regulations, and standards.

The test engineer is responsible for analyzing the product features, participating at the design/FMEA level to define detection activities (tests), and designing and implementing the tests that ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of a product. You are involved in all phases of the testing program, from designing the test parameters to checking materials, procedures, mechanical and electrical systems.  You work with the product design team to define the test procedures and pass criteria, run tests on various components and features to identify and troubleshoot errors and technical issues, and write up final test procedures and results.

To ensure success as a test engineer, you should have in-depth knowledge of engineering, testing, and product design, a good eye for detail, and the ability to think out of the box. Ultimately, a top-level test engineer can create simple yet thorough quality-check procedures to ensure the peak performance of a product.  Experienced Test Engineers might also be responsible for training and managing junior team members.

The position is located in Timisoara, Romania.

Test Engineer Responsibilities

  • Participate in design reviews, FMEAs, and risk assessment meetings to define realistic detection activities (how do define a test to detect design or process errors).
  • Analyze product features and designing test parameters.
  • Meet with the value stream and product design team to determine product testing requirements and recommend tests and test procedures.
  • Co-author design validation plans, using standard tests (ETRs) as much as possible.
  • Write/update simple test code to automate and control test conditions
  • Prepare test plans based on electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics, execute, and document results
  • Write test plans and create test cases for the product.
