About the Role:

As a Sales Engineer/Technical Salesperson, you will be at the forefront of driving the daily sales activities for our company's products and solutions in the designated market and region. Your responsibilities encompass devising effective sales strategies, achieving personal sales targets, and collaborating with the team to meet collective sales objectives, all while prioritizing solutions centered around Armstrong Design Envelope (Design About Armstrong).

This position is based in our Sao Paulo, Brazil site, with regular travels in the region.

In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:

Key Responsibilities

  • Exceed assigned bookings and shipments targets in the assigned territory.
  • Responsible for selling Armstrong products and solutions, communicating the Armstrong value proposition to wholesale customers and contractors.
  • Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value proposition of our products and services, including but not limited to, Design Envelope technology, Systems Optimization and Services.
  • Collaborate in the development of sales strategies, marketing channels, and sales forecasts.
  • Directly manage assigned accounts, ensuring proactive engagement and satisfaction.
  • Prepare comprehensive proposals and quotations in accordance with the Armstrong sales process, utilizing available quotation tools.
  • Cultivate and expand the direct customer base by fostering strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and design engineers while identifying new customer and market opportunities.
  • Evaluate customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions that meet their requirements
  • Analyze and report customer feedback to facilitate continuous improvement of service levels and increase market share.
  • Maintain meticulous records of daily sales activities and customer information in the CRM system.
  • Implement commercial best practices aligned with the Armstrong Sales Process, ensuring consistent excellence in execution.
  • Participate in trade fairs to bolster the Armstrong brand in the market, including stand preparation and engaging with visitors.
  • Compile and deliver sales reports as required by the line manager, providing insights into market conditions and competitive activities.
  • Monitor competitive activities and status reports on market conditions.
  • Provide support for special projects as assigned by the line manager, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Contribute to the setting of goals and objectives for the sales group, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented team environment.
  • Promote teamwork and maintain liaison with other departments of the company.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, including product offering, engineering, customer service, and manufacturing.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and product developments to provide insights and recommendations to the sales team.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop technical content, collateral, and sales tools to support the sales process.

Role Requirements

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical. Technical / professional knowledge and skills required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in sales focused on HVAC and/or related industry.
  • Active English proficiency is a must.

Key Competencies

  • Experience in tracking sales information of customers, forecasts and reports using related software applications such as CRM.

  • Strong technical knowledge of products and systems in the HVAC industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
