The Accounting Manager responsibilities will include overseeing the monthly closing process, ensuring accuracy and completeness in month-end financial statements. This involves reviewing and preparing financial statements, while also managing month-end accruals to accurately reflect expenses and revenues. Additionally, maintaining the integrity of financial data within the system is a crucial aspect, requiring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to accounting standards to guarantee the reliability and accuracy of the company’s financial records.  This will be a key role within the finance team, helping to bring improvements and efficiencies to the department.   

In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts, tied into the monthly trial balance.
  • Perform month end closing with accurate cut-off; journal entries, general ledger maintenance, trial balance and supporting schedules for financial statements preparation.
  • Champion improvements in policies, procedures, and system enhancement with the goal of enhancing internal control, completeness and accuracy.
  • Reconcile Intercompany accounts (Due to / Due from) from affiliated companies.
  • Assist with month-end variance analysis, factory performance and monthly highlights reporting.
  • Assist with decision making regarding technical accounting issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Assist Accounts Payable with internal invoice approvals, routing, and follow up.
  • Assist in the company's annual audit, including the preparation and review of documents submitted to the external auditors, helping to manage workflow, and providing ongoing communications with the audit team.
  • Monitor daily cash flow and prepare forecasts to ensure the company has the liquidity to meet its obligations.
  • Prepare financial and other ad-hoc reports.

What We're Looking For

To Thrive in this role, you should bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience with the full accounting cycle.
  • Previous experience working with an ERP system in a manufacturing environment with standard costing and variance analysis.
  • Proficient in Excel including broad experience utilizing Pivot tables, creating reports, and manipulating large data sets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to management.
