The Energy Services Engineer generates and distributes advanced analytical reports for Armstrong’s suite of system optimization & cloud services clients by creating, managing and leveraging advanced AFDD, ML & AI routines which enhance our remote diagnostics and failure analytics capabilities.

This position is located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India

In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:

General

  • Interact regularly with Engineering and IT groups across our global locations,
  • Make recommendations on streamlining processes, improving report templates, and enhancing the overall customer experience.
  • Provides ongoing support for our global customer base of Active Performance Management customers, including the customer experience components of Armstrong’s ECO*PUSLETM HVAC Health Management service, the Pump Manager Cloud Service, and other offerings for the Armstrong Connected Products line.

Tracking and Reporting

  • Generate Customer Specific reporting through:
    • extracting data from Armstrong’s plant control systems, Armstrong cloud, and other Data Warehouses across the Armstrong Data Lake
    • prepare trend and energy summaries
    • analyze the data and identify anomalies in the plant & equipment behavior
    • recommend optimization measures for improved efficiency & failure avoidance
    • Work with the Cloud Services DevOps team to implement designed custom algorithms on cloud for automated deployment
  • Develop and deploy ML/AI-based AFDD capabilities by working with Armstrong Engineering Core R&D teams to create, test, and deploy ML/AI.
  • Test and support deployment of ML/AI algorithms on real-world equipment & systems, and provide real-time troubleshooting, analytics and customer support
  • Conduct analysis of macro customer or product insights gleaned from either equipment-specific or central plant data

Role Requirements

  • University or College degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Building Sciences,
    or equivalent advanced degree/diploma with applicable industry experience.
  • +3-5 years of relevant work experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial
    engineering/environments
  • Must have strong Excel skills and be familiar with the broader suite of MS Office
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages would be an asset:       
    JavaScript, Angular, JQuery, Python, C#
  • Big Data analytics, statistical theory, and or Data Science background is a plus
  • Able to cope with multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
  • Strong customer service disposition is mandatory
  • Creative problem-solving skills & conflict management experience from within different
    organizational structures (centralized and/or matrix hierarchies)
  • Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis
    and provide clear well-thought-out recommendations
  • Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with a focus on
    results.
  • Ability to communicate openly and authentically in all situations.
