Field Service Specialist

Toronto, Canada

Position Summary

Responsible to provide superb customer service. You will interact with third party service reps and customers both on site and off site, working in a hands on field service environment with a strong commitment to customer service. You will participate in development of the service organization as a key trainer to other service representative firms.  You will advocate for the customer within the organization and provide feedback from the field and from customers to improve the products and processes. You will support the sale and delivery of parts and after-sales service programs.

Some Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain customer service relationship through customer phone support, on-site HVAC and control system commissioning.
  • Manage customer issue resolutions, maintenance of records and documentation of responses to customer inquiries.
  • Compile and review site commissioning/startup/warranty field reports for HVAC packaged systems.
  • Process/edit Service Warranty claims for processing through the Armstrong service management system.
  • Participate in the qualification of third part service representatives.
  • Present training seminars for regional representative and customers.
  • Analyze customer feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the handling of the returned goods process.
  • Liaise with engineering, technical support, project management, Sales and Marketing for product development activities and project specific initiatives.
  • Participate in the creation of new Service process maps, documents, forms and other elements important to this area of responsibility.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Mechanical/Electrical technologist diploma or Engineering degree.
  • Service background in engineered product manufacturing/marketing/distribution organization is a definite advantage.
  • Must possess practical hands-on-field service experience in a commercial or industrial segment.
  • Five or more years of hands on Field Experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Superior computer skills, and experience with HVAC controls systems.
  • Ability to multi-task and work both independently or as a team.
  • Comfortable to travel to project sites outside of the GTA and internationally (10-20% of work load)
  • Multilingualism considered a huge plus.

Project Manager- HVAC

Position Summary

As a Project Manager, you will join the Project Engineering Team on ensuring the successful documentation, planning and implementation on daily basis. Under the direction of the Supervisor for Technical Support Services, the incumbent will be responsible for the technical and sales support of Company products/systems by applying proven solutions that add value to our customers. Position Summary

US Project and Application Engineer

Position Summary

The Project and Application Engineer interacts with external and internal sources to maximize customer specification of the current product portfolio and also lead projects in support of new opportunities.The role is accountable to provide leadership to enhance applied value for customers and for Armstrong.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control and manage OEM customer drawings and data required for specifications
  • For Customer Service provide technical support and also translate OEM part numbers into Armstrong terminology and provide clear information for order entry
  • Interact with customers to interpret applications, specifications, and needs to provide solutions and to develop engineering standards for a given product
  • Project manager for Engineering Action Requests, Engineering Change Orders, for support of OEM Configurator work, for initiatives driving cost/price reductions, and for various OEM product design opportunities
  • Design in AutoCad to create, review, and edit 2D drawings
  • Design in SolidWorks to create and modify parts and assemblies in 3D and to create and modify detail drawings in 2D
  • Manage data in the Armstrong MRP system called BaaN which requires BOM and routing updates, modifications and creation
  • Issue drawing packages for pump packages to the assembly team and provide support during the build process
  • Support inside and outside sales with pricing of pump packages and components

Preferred Qualifications/Education/Experience

  • Bachelors of Science degree in mechanical engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the piping design and development of customer solutions, preferably in the HVAC industry

Position Summary

Position Summary

As a Controls Engineer you will be reporting to the System Design Manager, IMS and will work with the Armstrong Engineering Team.
